What is the One Theme?
One is a multipurpose theme by Evolve Themes, built around the company’s own page builder and its framework for colours, typography and layouts rather than Elementor. It served agencies, businesses and portfolios with a clean, flexible design. Version 1.8.15 on December 9, 2022 added PHP 8.1 compatibility, and ThemeForest shows no update since, almost four years ago. Without updates it will fall behind new WordPress, PHP and WooCommerce releases.
An unsupported builder is the main risk. On One sites we see builder pages that cannot be edited after WordPress updates, warnings on PHP 8.2 and newer, plugin conflicts nobody can fix upstream and owners unsure how to move away. We stabilise the current site, export content from the builder, rebuild key pages in Elementor and migrate to a maintained theme with redirects.
