1.1 Information You Provide:
- Account Information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
- Profile Information: Avatar/profile photo, timezone, and communication preferences.
- Project Information: Project descriptions, requirements, briefs, and any content you submit through the Platform.
- Files & Attachments: Documents, images, and other files uploaded through the Platform workroom.
- Messages: Communications sent through the Platform’s messaging system.
- Payment Information: Billing details provided during checkout. Payment card data is processed directly by Stripe and is never stored on our servers.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically:
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, and interactions within the Platform.
- Device & Browser Information: Browser type, operating system, and screen resolution.
- IP Address: Collected for security purposes and to detect unauthorized access.
- Activity Status: We track your last active timestamp to display online/offline status to project participants.
- Cookies: We use essential cookies to maintain your session and authentication state.
1.3 Information from Third Parties:
- Google Sign-In: If you sign in using Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. We do not access your Google contacts, calendar, or other data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide our Services: Create and manage your account, facilitate project communication, process payments, and deliver work.
- Operate the Platform: Display project details, messages, and files to authorized project participants (you, assigned experts, and administrators).
- Process Payments: Send payment information securely to Stripe for processing. We store transaction records (amounts, dates, status) but not payment card details.
- Send Notifications: Deliver email notifications about project updates, messages, estimates, payments, and other service-related events based on your notification preferences.
- Improve our Services: Analyze usage patterns to improve the Platform’s functionality and user experience.
- Ensure Security: Monitor for unauthorized access, fraud, and abuse.
- Communicate with You: Respond to support requests and send important service announcements.
3. How We Share Your Information
3.1 Within the Platform:
- Your name and avatar are visible to other participants in your projects (assigned experts and administrators).
- Your online status is visible to project participants.
- Messages and files you share in a project workroom are visible to all participants of that project.
3.2 Third-Party Service Providers:
- Stripe: Payment processing. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to payment data: stripe.com/privacy.
- Email Service Provider: We use third-party email services to deliver notification emails. Only your name and email address are shared for this purpose.
3.3 We Do NOT:
- Sell your personal data to third parties.
- Share your information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
- Use your data for advertising or profiling.
3.4 Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
4. Data Storage & Security
4.1 Your data is stored on secure servers. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption, access controls, and regular security monitoring.
4.2 Payment card information is handled entirely by Stripe and is never stored on our servers or the Platform.
4.3 Account passwords are stored using one-way hashing and cannot be retrieved by anyone, including our staff.
4.4 While we take reasonable precautions to protect your data, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Your Rights & Choices
5.1 Account Settings:
- You can update your name, email, password, and avatar through your Profile Settings page.
- You can enable or disable email notifications globally or for individual notification types.
- You can choose your preferred notification sound or disable it entirely.
5.2 Access & Correction: You may request access to the personal data we hold about you or request corrections by contacting us at [email protected].
5.3 Account Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us. Please note:
- We may retain certain records (transaction history, project deliverables) as required for legal, accounting, or business purposes.
- Data that has been shared in project workrooms (messages, files) may be retained as part of the project record.
5.4 Email Opt-Out: You can disable email notifications through your Profile Settings at any time. Service-critical emails (password resets, account security) cannot be opted out of.
6. Cookies
6.1 We use essential cookies to:
- Maintain your login session
- Remember your authentication state
- Protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF)
6.2 We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.
7. Data Retention
7.1 Account Data: Retained for as long as your account is active. If your account is deactivated, we may retain your data for a reasonable period for record-keeping.
7.2 Project Data: Messages, files, and project records are retained for the duration of the project and a reasonable period afterward for reference and dispute resolution.
7.3 Transaction Records: Payment and transaction records are retained as required by applicable tax and accounting laws.
7.4 Logs & Activity Data: Server logs and activity data are retained for security monitoring purposes and are periodically purged.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our Services and Platform are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
9. International Users
Our servers and operations are based in the United States. If you are accessing the Platform from outside the United States, please be aware that your data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the Platform, you consent to this transfer.
